FLAGSTAFF COMMUNITY BAND

Summer 2021 Band Season rehearsals will begin outside and distance at the end of May.  Go to the Band Member Info page to learn more!

The Flagstaff Community Band, under the direction of Tim McKay, is in its 29th Season of providing music for the Flagstaff area.  Our membership includes approximately 65 musicians of all abilities from across the region.   We rehearse once a week and welcome anyone in the community who plays a band instrument. Throughout the summer, you will hear us performing at Heritage Square in downtown Flagstaff, before multiple parades, various service events, the Coconino County Fair, and more!  Our Winter Season, while shorter, also provides the community with music for holiday celebrations, including a performance and community food drive held at Flagstaff's historic Orpheum Theater.  The band produced their first professional recording during their 2019 Summer Season.  Check it out, for free, here on our website!

NON DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

The Corporation will not practice or permit discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race, national origin, religion, color, veteran’s status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or disability.

CULTURAL EQUITY STATEMENT

Though we know that we are always learning and a statement is the mere beginning of work towards equity, we are committed to explicitly stating our values. In our performances and engagements, we will strive to represent and honor works from artists of a variety of backgrounds while also working to ensure that our performances are informed and respectful. Moreover, we aim to create rehearsal and performance environments that are relevant and meaningful for the many diverse members of our local community. To achieve these goals, we plan to program compositions from underrepresented artists, collaborate with other artistic groups in Flagstaff, and intentionally seek a broader range of instrumentalists and audience members.
